I have just got a RR L322 . It's been running on LPG for about 40K of its 100k miles. It's running fine but I've read that LPG can cause some problems to the upper cylinders due to LPG being 'dry'. I know some systems have the flash lube system but mine doesn't seem to have it . What measures do you take / suggest to ensure I minimise any risk of future damage.

TIA ,

Rob

Keep it. wink

Seriously, the 4.4 V8 BMW unit has hardened valves anyway so does not suffer from the problem (or so I've been told) so you should have nothing to worry about.

The Jag units need Flashlube.

Thanks for the reply , I've been looking at the fullfatrr.com forum since I posted here and it says much the same .

How is yours starting , when cold mines fine , when at full temp it's fine but if I drive about 1 mile from cold (it's usually just going onto gas by then) and leave it for half hour or so it can be a bit reluctant to start , gets there after 5 seconds or so but not instant as it does usually.

Hello yes me too. 54 plate.
BRC system. Mine is superb.
I put a Tank of petrol through once a month. (just incase extra lubrication for the top end)

Mine does exactly the same as yours. Starts from cold on the button.
A bit hesitant when warm.

Otherwise perfect.

Prins. Never had a problem. More importantly, as you have 100k, have you had the gearbox oil and filter changed? If not, probably a good idea sooner rather than later.

Just read up on the gearbox oil change , seems a logical thing to do . The gearbox sump on mine is quite corroded so might treat her to a new sump , filters and oil soon . The gearbox is silky smooth with no fluid leaks , I hope to keep it that way

Got a BRC system too, no problems starting at all, great system, very pleased so far.
