Lister, Kryten, Red Dwarf etc are to return in a new 2 series run, filming to start in January 2011, and possible bradcast from Easter?

I hope they do a better job than last years attempt

Well I shall look forward to it, although I was expecting after the weak three last year that that would have been the end of it.

Those 3 last year weren't weak. They were unmitigated ste.

Fingers crossed that they get some semi entertaining stories for the return.

I just wish they had left it at series 6. Brilliant until that point, where after the quality nosedived. Parts of 7 and 8 are just painful to watch

That 2 part thing from last year was cringeworthy. I hope to god it is not like that or it will be a flop of very floppy proportions.

Oh dear! I'm a big fan od the Dwarf, but time has moved on the story was pretty well concluded and each of them is perfectly suited to what they are doing on thier own now.

... Even Listy in Corrie!

Times have moved on. Red Dwarf has died. They are milking a dead duck from series 7 onwards. I have huge respect for writers that leave it with definitive ends that leaves the audience wanting more, ala Life on Mars / Ashes to Ashes.

I look forward to watching the first 10 minutes and deciding it's utter crap.

It went crap went Rob Grant stopped writing, after series 6.

Although Doug Naylor is a fantastic writer, it appears they were, together, significantly more than the sum of their parts.

Neither of them have set the world alight alone since their writing partnership ended.

Fingers crossed with a new writer on board, things may improve, but unless it's back to the old Grant AND Naylor, I wouldn't hold out too much hope.

Still, there are 6 good series to enjoy, and they're fantastic!

Legion - Great episode smile

Going by the new episodes it has lost its sparkle. Maybe the new series could restart it for a new set of viewers. Trouble is they tend to add modern comedy traits with it (for example Ginger jokes in DW).
