That is the standard size/shape for a 4.* Griff, never had any probs when I had mine. Maybe it's more pronounced cos of the colour. Also anyone thinking of bidding, the guy wanted £14k when it was on ebay before, which it obviously didn't make. I bid then and it didn't make reserve,so I emailed him, only to be told he'd been informed it was actually worth more so he wanted £15k. Nice car, lots of work done and 'special' bits, but maybe it's too personalised to appeal to many people. Wonder if he'd swap for the Tuscan?

That Griffith certainly isn't pukka - the nose is definitely not the original shape or profile - looks like a 500 nose that's been badly modified to try to make it look like a precat nose - I wonder if it was a write-off - a lot of other bits and pieces like colour, mirrors and wheels on it just look weird.

Yeh, the nose isnt original and it would restrict air flow im sure, he says its had repairs to the chassis which might indicate that its been in a prang.

like the exhaust wrap though, but how long will the headers last seeing as their not stainless?

anyway it looks gastly,IMHO of course

Looks Like a standard pre-cat front end to me. Probably the cut down plate that is throwing people, here is another for referance

Though I agree the car just doesn't right with those mods. Some things are just best left alone.

Nice colour for a Griff and the green roof works well. Ithas definitely had the front modified unless it's a TVR prototype. I wonder if it's lived through a summer with the restricted airflow into the rad (we all know how these cars like their fresh air flowing through).

Nothing a hacksaw wouldn't solve.

I don't think it's worth much more than a tidy std model though - unfortunately.

I've just sold my Chimaera and it's enhanced here and there, but to be honest I think I would have got the same price with no mods.

Airflow wouldn't be a problem as the main intake is on the underside of the nose - but I bet the nose has been replaced with a modified 500 nose.

The nose is exactly the same as I had on my 4.3 Griff, which was original, and is the same as the one in the pic above. I think it's just the colour and the way the light is hitting it that shows up the 'flatness' of the front.

Its def orginal 4.x front end, its exactly the same as mine. Its just that usually the reg plate is wider and lower, partly covering the intake. Some people resize the plates or use a stick on one to improve airflow but the main intake on a 4.x is actually a separate grill underneath.

Has similar wheels too.

Edited to change "same" to "similar" after looking at your profile!

Maybe the owner will confirm the authenticity of the nose - if he's honest and doesn't mind.

Looks like something's been done to the rear wings as well, judging by the recess either side of the lights:

Or is that something else that was a feature of the pre-cat Griffs?

Edited to say, that I've also just noticed the twin exhuast pipes each side!

Thanks to the nice small photo!

To be honest it actually looks completely standard. FRONT and REAR. With perhaps some type of twin pipe sports exhaust.

Why spread unsubstantiated rumours about this car.

Yep, standard rear too, apart from the exhaust that is, but then that is mentioned in the spec.

Looks like a totally sorted car from what I can tell. To get all that work done would cost not such a small fortune. I think someone would have themselves a bargain if it went for circa £13000 - if you can live with the high amount of personalisation and the colour that is! ( IMHO)
