Billy no mates
Discussion
How does someone who is their own with a toddler, has a full time job and who lives in the sticks make new friends? Can't meet other parents as they only come out during the day, workmates are mostly 10 years younger, childless and into drinking/clubbing. Plus I'm an anti-social barstard, to be honest.

The only thing about forums.. Most people live a long way away

I'm a loner too though really! Ah well.
I know you say all your work mates are younger, and childless...but why does this no mean they can not be your friends?
I work with an 18 year old, and although at times I act more like her mum than a friend, I also have a great laugh with her and would now refer to her as a proper mate.
Don't write people off just because they are younger.

I do quite like the people I work with. I just can't socialise with them outside of work that much (none live nearby anyway) as their socialising mainly entails going to the nearest city a good 10 miles away and getting plastered. The other problem is that I've been asked not to chat whilst at work (and I usually only talk shop anyway), which is to be honest what's brought this on in the first place.
