in fairness.....was a private plate being put onto the individuals own RX-8.......

in the same vein the Hertfordshire fire cheief has a black boxster with the number plates F14MES - which looks cool!

I know at one stage Essex Ambulance service had some response cars with things like Y999 AMB on the plates when there was an outcry about them wasting tax payers money etc it came out that the supplying dealer had got them done and thrown them in at zero cost. He was told nicely thanks but no thanks we get too much grief for them.

There is a certain head of a certain Police Air Support Unit, who has 1 FLY on his car. He previously had M999 FLY on a Z3.

Leeds VRO always had ?UM at the beginning of the number plates. It caused much amusement when a batch of Viva for Leeds City Police had "DUM" on them
