Unbelievable England flag related incident
Discussion
Right chaps, this involves an imported spacker bus, and a plastic flag - possibly from Asda or somewhere.
Firstly what is it about the Japanese dodgy imported version of the really old Toyota Previa? If I wanted a rusty, filthy automatic diesel Toyota Previa I'd buy one. It would cost less than a pack of crisps - and the money saved could go on a disguise. Why go to all the bother of ringing up Miyagi's Exporters and sending a not yet road legal one to Felixstowe Docks for twice the price? Then to go through the ludicrous rigmarole of fitting a rusty bracketed bicycle light on the back and tip-exing Mph's over the metric speedo. Why?
I digress. Anyway those things are always bought in order to carry the hordes of special children popped out by the owner's significant other. I loathe them. Badly driven, always with a cheapo personalised plate and "small dude" or "princess on board" funny little sucker mounted T-shirts that are faded and grey with dust. Always both though, these people always have more than one. Ditto the peeling silver paint on the dodgem car body kit and the rough old tractor engine spewing black out of a Taiwanese made bazooka exhaust. Children do not mandate the purchase of a pikey carnival float.
When seen, recently, these vehicles are peppered with stick on England flags. Usually two, but with the presence of roof rails it can be up to six. Anyhow I was tooling along in the fast lane of a busy dual carriageway. I was out for no reason other than I was approaching a notoriously short and deadly slip road. One that is defined by the accidents it has caused.
Previously mentioned "Lucida Enema" comes barreling down said slip road. Weaving and distinctly out of control. I am about level with it and have a good view of the shenanigans on my rear view mirror. It transpired that the plastic peg supporting the Cross of St George had broken slightly. Thus the flag fluttered at a crazy angle.
Overcome by patriotism the driver of the Toyota decided to prevent this by sticking his right arm out of the window and holding grimly on to his flag. Whilst continuing to steer with one hand into the path of fast oncoming traffic. At one point the van veered so wildly he had to let go of his flag, grab the wheel and correct his course.
I was fascinated and slowed slightly. As good as gold he stuck his hand out again and continued at a steady sixty five, holding his flag all the way.

My neighbour (a registered childminder) had one of these delightful vehicle imports until a few months ago.
She did seem hell-bent on involving her charges in an RTA. It was dented (possibly by taking out my gatepost?). She habitually reversed into the main road across a cycle lane, and because of her caravan, she had no line of sight. Sometimes it takes her 3 or 4 goes to line up for the gateway - and it is wide. She took to driving on a flat tyre for several weeks. The 'military tank' stream of black smoke didn't require investigation apparently. And the windscreen washers were replaced with a jug of water. The owners do seem to lack judgement!

Regardless of the flag incident, I enjoyed this little rant! And what is it about these imported Japanese diesels that makes them smoke so much? Different diesel over there? The Shoguns are the worst!hman said:

I'll quite happily admit to owning a UK-spec Previa for a few months, despite not owning any children. Being the UK version its slightly wider than the Jap equivalent and is a full 8-seater.
Why did I buy such a thing? Well, it was cheap and I made a small profit selling it on. However the rear 6 seats also fold down to create a double bed
ETA: I was never once tempted to fit England flags to it.

I was next to one in traffic the other day and on its flanks it had 3 paragraphs of that particular form of meaningless Engrish that the japanese seem to like to adorn everything from toasters to sweatshirts with.
"Life is my passion. Feel the joy, brazil. Working underneath love for better amplitude. Follow the path to happy time, in wagon. Banana donkey in the fast lane, yeah! San Francisco."
That sort of crap. Inexplicable.

Also, is it just me or do builders' white vans given the St George Cross makeover look like the kind of untrustworthy ambulances you see at the end of the runway at third world airports?

Well you would have to be to stick a 50p piece of tat (made in china) to your car and think that in someway that you were supporting the national team. And why the f
k do they all need England written on? Is it so the Retards who buy them know where the flag is from?Edited by Jonny_693 on Thursday 10th June 13:20
