Hello, a bit of a complicated one but hope you can possibly help!

I have recently taken out a policy with an insurance company - as of start April - and stated i had two years NCB. They have now written to say they can only confirm 1 year from my previous insurer and want to charge me an extra £120 ASAP.

To give background behind this my first ever policy was with Admiral, 1 year complete and 1 year NCB. Then went to Egg and stated i had one year from Admiral - no problem... Then completed another full year, with no claims against it, and paid in full to end of March just gone. So should have the TWO years NCB!?

My previous insurer has contacted Egg and they have only confirmed one year, and state by law can only go by previous insurers. i.e not take admiral..

So, im in the middle of sorting this out.

Can anyone give advice on this please?

Thanks

Total rubbish.

Insurance company would have given you 2 years NCB at renewal and should pass this on.

When you moved to Egg did you say you already had 1 year? Also, you could go directly to Admiral and get proof of your previous year with them. Easy peasy.

This is a potential problem. But if you speak to Egg yourself, and lay it down in simple terms, you should get sorted:

"Did I state I already had one year's NCB at the start of the policy?"
"Yes"
"Did I then complete a full year of a policy eligible for earning another year's NCB from you, without making a claim?"
"Yes"
"Please send me a letter confirming your support of my two years' NCB"

How can they get around that?
