A couple of thousand on a wrap and he's got his company in a few of the papers and no doubt a local news item or two . . . . . . . . . . . Not so daft when you're a bit cynical smile

It's hardly ruined is it; after all it's a plastic wrap. Once the world cup is over and all the publicity opportunities have gone, somebody will spend an hour or two with a hairdryer and take the wrap off, no harm done and the owner has more traffic to his site

You are of course right and what I have said is meant to be taken tongue-in-cheek. For example that is the 1st time in my life that my pale white arse has ever used the word 'Ghetto' and will possibly the last as well! lol

Is the owner on here?

I met him, briefly many years back. At the time, the plate was on a Yellow Diablo (SV, possibly). He had RPA1 on an F40 at the same event (I think it was Ferrari's 50th b'day bash IIRC).

Looked ok, good for him I say.

I have to say, I'm not one for this tacky overuse of the flag which get's hijacked by the footie fraternity every four blinkin' years.
But if , as the article suggests, some objections have been raised because it may appear racist rolleyes then I'm off to buy half a dozen for the car. smile

The only people suggesting that the St George's Cross is racist, yet again is The Sun. If they say it enough then people start to believe it.

The only issue I can see is that some people think hanging it the wrong way out of a window or applying it to naff plastic tat is tacky and therefore offensive (I saw my first one in the gutter alongside the North Circular yesterday frown)

I think the H&S angle was probably brought out as a convenient way of getting around the problem without having to offend the knuckledraggers.

^ Yes, I agree, it's definitely the Sun wot said it.
But use of those plastic trumpet things should be made a treasonable offence. yes

Not seen these trumpets, but have funnily enough just had someone else tell me that they are a menace within the last twenty minutes!

I think the wrap has actually been done rather well.
Whatever you think of the motives or the current look of the car, it can be taken off very easily.

Frankly as a publicity stunt it makes very good business sense indeed, you couldn't buy the press he's been getting so well done!

I also just don't get the racist angle that's being trotted out by the bigwigs.
If people want to show their support for the team by showing a flag then why shouldn't they?

Racism is about an intent more than a symbol.
the intent is to be proud of the England football team and support them in the world cup

It actually brings a sense of cameraderie rather than devisiveness.
thats's what they dont understand

The world cup can suck my ball bag!

...but on a more serious note - Those b4st4ard F*ing flags on people's cars should be effing banned!

In one short 25 minute journey Ellie counted *6* of them broken off at the side of the motorway.

I would NOT be happy about one of those hitting my paintwork at 70mph! :-o
