Had a chat with Mel about this earlier - seems very reasonably priced. If only I could...

Hey Dusty,
why not put 'us' out of 'your' misery and buy Mel's Griff? Realise it's not black, but not many are, and it's pretty close.

Not too quickly I hope, the porsche doesn't arrive untill the begining of June. As for the price I tryed to be realistic about it and not put it up for silly money only to have to drop later, IMO £14k is fair and honest as is the description I've given, I see very little point in a) over pricing cars with false expectations and b) over selling cars by claiming they're perfect when they're not. I just hope that the response is equally open and honest and I don't get plagued by fools from Ireland offering £5K and things. There are also a few "other" bits that can be negotiated with the buyer but that will depend on how pleasant they are to deal with, I really hate selling cars and would rather just lay my cards on the table and say thats it take it or leave it, (bit like buying a Daewoo )

Mel might be referring to a post a few weeks back when a member got a load of hassle when selling his MR2 to a couple of Irish chaps - I'm sure Mel didn't mean to cause insult! Piss-taking is not determined by nationality here - I had a very well spoken Home Counties type offer me £10.5k for my Griff a few weeks back - £5k less than the asking price! It's stuff like that which reinforced my decision not to advertise to the public at large (Auto Trader etc.).

Mel - As a well renowned Irish Fool I must say your asking price is extremely fair for such a nice Griffith - great colour by the way and the wheels do look in keeping - wish you the best of luck with the sale Mel. I would offer you my best prize sow but I be wanting something else forenenst the Griffith.

What are you replacing such a macho V8 beast with - obviously something equally butch - something that will still wupp the asses of hairdresser/gay machines such as the Boxsta or MX5?

PS Oh sorry I see it's to be a Porsche - nice 993 TT or RS perhaps - that'd do it.
