Pedalbox reassembly

For reasons I won't go into I had to whip my pedalbox out pretty sharpish and so didn't give it the attention it deserved re reassembly. Turns out it is pretty straightforward but I have a part left over! Suggestions as to where this goes are welcome - correct ones would be the most useful and suggestions unrelated to the pedalbox environment will make me giggle but ultimately will be of little help.

Ready to be shot down but I think that is the part that stops you from pushing one of the pedals down too far. My car is not with me at the moment but if no one else comes back then I will look later and either post a pic up or explain as best as I can.

Thanks - I thought that too but the bolts for the clutch and gas pedal stoppers are mounted directly on the pedalbox chassis and I have these. There is a slight indent around the mounting hole that matches the welded on bolt head 'washer' that secures the pedalbox chassis to the floor but can't figure out where it mounts or indeed what its function is.

Think I've figured it out - seems to be the stop for the gas pedal at rest. Anyway it fits there and seems to make sense so going to go with it. If that isn't right let me know.
