I could see this coming months ago........

The first time I heard about it was on Monday last week when Nigel

We spent the whole of the next day discussing ideas and issues. Ted Marlow said Nigel was an excellent ambassador and through gentleman. He really wasn’t kidding

On Wednesday, Nigel went to Fib’s and tendered his resignation

I’m giving him more responsibility

Hearty congratulations Den, as said before the way forward is simply to be better than the opposition and Nigel's contributions will go a long way towards this
Can I suggest that the first project could be re-building and turbocharging a Honda V6? its a really popular engine choice and I may know someone who could supply a donor to work on

Ted's got a smile on his face anyway..........

To be serious for a minute, this is a great signing for Den and "Kit car", Nigel Dean is a top bloke, having met him at Kit car shows, he is a very friendly guy, who is a fountain of knowledge about all aspects of kit car building and ownership, "Kit Cars" gain is certainly "Which Kits"? loss......
One can only speculate on the reason Nigel "jumped ship", as IIRC he was due to commence building a "Dax" Cobra........
Anyway, keep on the happy pills Den

Thanks everybody, for the congratulations
.
The fact is that Nigel’s appointment really does make a significant difference to me and enables me to relax in so many respects.
I’ve been aware that Kit Car hasn’t had a serialised build project for quite some time. Also, one doesn’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that Nigel’s technical contribution to Which Kit? was significant (possibly the most significant). So, I was thinking long and hard
about a ‘detail’ Dean antidote. I never thought for a moment that it would come in the form of the man himself.
Ironically, all the alternative plans are still very much ‘live’ as well. The construction of my very own 700 sq ft garage/workshop is well underway. I’m still very interested in the many propositions regarding build features, technical articles and the like that have come from you lot.
My point is that not only am I being advised to tone down my aggressive side
in so far as one individual is concerned, but in view of many recent developments even I
can see that a completely different approach is required.
That approach shall be to show 'how a magazine of integrity should be produced'.

Andy,
The truth is that’s what
EVERYBODY has been telling me for months.
I have calmed down of late
, but you’d be amazed at how hard it is to put a cat back in a bag after you’ve let it out.
This significant gain, which some might call a victory
, affords an excellent opportunity for me to redirect my passion towards issues which matter to ordinary readers
like you good
folk.
I’m going to put the lid on the personal remarks and get on with improving my magazine. I believe it’s fair
for me to claim that it has already been improved in a mechanical sense. Nigel’s contribution should make it improve in an intellectual sense as well
.
As you and other have intimated. The best product will ultimately sell better
, attract advertisers and gain most respect
.
It really is good news
.
