What has Zeta Jones done to deserve an honour? Services to fellatio?

Honestly, apart from the Help For Heroes guys, talk about scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Scraping the barrel is right. I applaud the Help For Heroes couple for their OBE, but then in the same list, you have that old bird from Coronation Street getting an OBE too? Kind of devalues the OBE somewhat doesn't it?
Absolutely no issue with members of the Corrie cast getting this, but CZJ, honestly!

I sometimes think the Queen hands out gongs to court
popularity with the masses.

I don't know which person advises her who to select, but
I've seen some amazing choices over the years.

MBE, CBE etc etc all sounds like some Victorian thing to me.

Bring on the republican revolution, comrades, and we
can consign this old junk to the history books.

She doesn't choose them, the government does, namely the Honours and Appointments Secretariat of the Cabinet Office.

yes Its all done by committees of civil servants

I believe the only Honours that a Monarch alone can bestow are:

The Most Noble Order of the Garter:

and

The Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle
