Umm, well maybe I'm wrong, but after he and Brown left the biggest single deficit in British history I'm thinking he might the one needs to apologise. He must think the public are a bunch of non-thinking, forgetful muppets. He treats the public with utter contempt!

Is there a link to anything?

But if what you say in the title is correct, I agree with you, he should be begging forgiveness from the people of this country for landing us in such a dire mess.

They are. In 5 years time Labours misadventures will be forgotten about and all we'll hear about is how the evil Tories have cut public spending because they hate poor people etc etc.

PM Milliband will take power and the spend, spend, spend policy will continue.

Yeah, but look how they are going around this though. (The condems that is).

Instead of just implementing massive cuts they are going through a public consultation about it. They are giving (right minded) people a stake in these cuts as it were. So far from Labour being able to customise an attack on a single person or entity, they will end up having to blame the electorate - which they will be unable to do.

Short memory, some people rolleyes

I'll tell you what, Darling.

First let Brown apologise for falsely accusing the outgoing Conservative administration of leaving an economic mess in 1997 then we may just give you a hearing.

Thank you for that.

They really, really have no idea how much they are hated and just how much they have f***ed up our country.

I assume that if the figures are equal to or worse than expected, Darling will issue a public apology to the nation.

You are right. Every time Labour have been in office they have eventually scurried out leaving a financial mess behind them - every damned time! But they eventually get back in because the voters' memories are short.

Pot, kettle, colour.

Labour were blaming the Conservatives for the first 10 years.

Some people I know still blame Thatcher for everything.

Darling should just fade away like Brown and go hide in a hole similiar to the one he helped dig for the rest of us to get out of.

That's not even close to being true.

But I suspect you're not interested in the truth.

And probably wouldn't understand it anyway.

Shadow chancellor Alistair Darling

This is lame, these pricks are still blaming Thatcher for their inadequacies FFS, every time they screw up, "it was Thatchers fault" they bleat.

He seriously needs to change the record

Came across as a chap with some integrity to me - which chimes with other things I've read about him.

Also appears to have been the one person in Cabinet who had the balls to stand up to Gordon Brown, and as such, may have done the country at least some modest service, not least by being up front about the scale of recession when all others from all parts of the political spectrum were maintaining a conspiracy of silence.
