As an aside, how can art be "illegal to own"? Do they mean child porn/snuff or stuff painted on canvas made from skins, or is it something more mundane?

Anyone got the number for a good supplier? It would seem that I need a career change.

So what if I'd end up dead or in prison before I turned 30 - My life before that would be one HELL of a ride!

Those black jaguars are beautiful too.

I think it's something to do with art owned by a state or country "for the people" deemed high in cultural or heritage value.

Remember kids, crime doesn't pay.

On the plus side, the animals were well cared for.

Surely when you get to the point of having $200 million in cash laying around the house, it is time to buy that fantasy Island and retire!

Call me cynical but that looks like a compilation of photos from different sources, not the result of a single raid on a single property.

I stand to be corrected of course.

Insane, just insane. That huge pile of cash, i mean..WTF!!???

Having so much cash in your house just seems a bit...schoolboy...i'd either spend more and invest it or at least HIDE it away from my house so when/if i get out of gaol i can "retire" in comfort.... wink

If you consider something like the UK or US could try and freeze your bank accounts if they can show the proceeds of criminal undertakings are in there, cash might be a wise (for a criminal at least) option...

I realise thet putting it through your local Natwest may raise eyebrows but i just think it's a bit mental having all that cash at your house....hidden somewhere a little more secure and less obvious...

Given that they possibly have 10-20 blokes armed to the teeth in there (and with a few hundred spare guns to be on the safe side) - I'd have thought it was pretty safe (notwithstanding a large number of armed plod turning up of course).

I must confess I'd LOVE to see the face of the woman behind the counter at Natwest as you saunter in with a few million quid in cash.........

You can get much the same efffect by walking into my local HSBC with a few hundred quid in coin. The staff that work there look at you with an expression somewhere between disdain and disbelief.

Incidentally, I paid for some clothes in a department store yesterday using £150 cash. The assistant said, "oooh we don't often see that much cash, people always pay that sort of money on cards now".

£150 quid? Not a fortune exactly.

I used to be a cashier at Natwest as it happens! The most i ever got handed, paid in, was 13k i think. All very well counting it through the sorter BUT it also had to be counted by hand frown

The novelty of big wads of cash soon wore off. The most cash i ever saw/handled in one sitting as such was 250k... frown hey ho

Not so long ago I began paying in a lot of cash to HSBC - up to £10k at a time in notes. They just weighed it. Then one day I casually asked, "so how often do you come across foged notes then". Wish I hadn't, they now count all my cash by hand and one gingerly handicapped cashier thinks I am a criminal.

I've only been a customer for 16 years, so you can understand their suspicion.
