IF the sliding scale VED tax for 'gas guzzlers' or vehicles with high CO2 emmissions comes in and you have to pay up £1000 a year for the pleasure??????????
Your thoughts please...
I would hate to give up the V8 experience but looking at it in the long run........looks like Brown & Darling may win........the B

And since this proposal is predicated on the change in behaviour that came about after company car tax was changed to be based on emissions, it's fatally flawed. Company cars are changed every three years as standard, so the tax is to encourage people to select more environmentally friendly new cars. If road tax based on emissions was to be applied retrospectively to all existing cars, wouldn't that hit the worse off more than 'rich people' who can afford to trade in for new? Hmmm, not very socially inclusive
So would it work? Not unless they exempted cars over a certain age. Then the business case doesn't stack up (cost of having a more complex system//benefit).
If a company put out proposals where the thinking so clearly lacked vigour in this way, they'd soon be out of business. Robust? I think not.

It's merely double taxation - use more petrol -> get taxed more at the pumps. Use a bigger engine -> get taxed once a year for the effectively for the same petrol!
in, wankin, one-eyed, twisted, warped, knob heads! Anyone want to go shares on a house in France, and register as a foreign citizen to escape Labour bastard arse-
tax ideology?
Can you tell I'm not best pleased?

I think we need to talk this up. Performance car enthusiasts are looking forward to a crashing market to snap up gas guzzlers for peanuts and use them more than before
....give us a bit of notice Ted in order that we may clear current stocks
I'll give you a tenner for the yellow chimaera
