Gutted for you.

If you go, it will become a legendary tale told for years to come.

I think you know what you should do. Good luck and godspeed

No, stay at home and get pissed. By the time you wake up tomorrow will be here and there will be no time to go back down......

Money saved yes

Why didn't you get towed there?

Plenty of TVR's brake down when they're barely off the ferry and they'll make it down.

that wasn't the Marlboro liveried Polo from the 'stickered up..' thread was it?

dumb luck sir - like the others are saying though, is it worth the drive back and 180 notes for the last couple of hours?

biggrin

That's a bit below the belt wink

In all honesty though I reckon my TVR has got more chance of making there than my very unreliable BMW.

To the OP, I'd stay at home and drink lots of beer. You can set fire to your tent in the morning in the comfort own back garden.........

Pah! I went with a mate on Thursday on 2 bikes. After an hour he fell off. Since then I've been looking after him in hospital and hotel. He gets repatriated tomorrow afternoon - I didn't get within 100 miles of Le Mans and the hotel doesn't have Eurosport.

This is why the car with the worse brakes should drive at the front of the convoy!

Judging by how creased the rear wing is, I would say so.

Where's the Polo that hit you? In France? tbh I'd have driven the BMW back. Even if it involved beating bodywork with a hammer and duct-taping the bumper on. Even if the rear wheel was out of alignment wearing it out and having to buy another on the way back would still be cheaper than going home and going back again.

It's st when you're carless though. My gearbox ate itself on the way from Nurburg to LeMans one year. Just stuck it on a trailer, got a hire car and carried on with my holiday. laugh

No TVR ever "brakes down" (except when slowing down after blowing off most other stuff on the road)- perhaps you mean "breaks". And that's a slur on TVR's.

Mine is much more reliable than the Alfa my wife ran until she got pissed off with it always being in the garage.

He's right you know. I repeatedly braked on the way down and braked occasionally on the way back. Saw a few 'reliable' cars on the hard shoulder and on loaders though.
