Hamilton on pole. Mansell out after 17 minutes.

Mansell, your plate is ready, would you like salt on your humble pie.laugh

Come on, give Nige a break, it was a puncture and he won't be the last to suffer that fate.

I'll be happy if I can drive as well as Mansell when I am his age - hell, if I could get a drive at Le Mans at any age!

It was a car failure you tool. Le Mans has been littered with punctures.

Tool? No need for that mate!

I didn't say it was a puncher, read my post properly!
To add: In light of Mansel's recent derogatory remarks regarding Hamilton's ability and how he got where he is today, Hamilton must have had a rye smile on his face when he heard the news, (after putting his car on pole). I wouldn't wish harm to anyone and would not have posted this if 'pensioner' Mr Mansel had have been hurt.

Chill!

I think MH has it about right, and so does Mansell on Hamilton.

Err....it hasn't been confirmed that Mansell isn't injured.

and yes...it was a puncture and that makes the driver a passenger...frankly I'd be glad if I could get in a race car at his age let alone drive it!

He was injured but the latest is that it's nowhere near as bad as at first thought.

Seems to be concussion, actually it didn't look like a big impact to me but I think there were two impacts and it was at a pretty quick part of the circuit

I was just picking up that the OP said he wouldn't have posted if Mansell had been injured when actually it isn't entirely clear what his injuries are.

He apparently hit one barrier more or less head on then bounced across the track and hit the opposite side.

I heard the impact was very low but he was taken off to be checked out as per normal.
All Hammy has to do is win tomorrow to help ease the all the pain? and win for Britain. That's the key here, why would Mansel slate one of his own. I thought it was out of order but I seem to be in the minority here.
I know it's not the best way to start a post, sorry if I've offended any Mansel fans. I'm not one of them. When I see Hamilton race, I see fire, someone who treats the car as a weapon, who is better than shuey, Hammy will be world champ more than once!

I don't think it's about being Mansell fans, it's about not revelling in the misfortune of someone else...
