The electric shock thread got me thinking about the pain I had when I got stung by a fish many years ago. So, who has been stung by a venemous animal, and how did it happen and what was the outcome?

i got stung by a portuguese man o war once. At the time i wasn't sure how poisonous they were but everyone seemed quite relaxed about it. It bloody hurt though and the welt took about 3 months to fade. I've since found out they're actually 3 organisms coexisting and the sting is only fatal if you're allergic.

Adder, twice now. Something about "once bitten twice shy" that doesn't quite ring true

Only ever once, i've always avoided bees/ wasps. When I was a kid, I had a wasp on my neck and froze, hoping to see it fly away. Some fking cock munching builder working at my aunts house at the time decided to take a swipe at it to get it to fly away, which it did after it stung me twice.

Only wasps and horseflies, but an ex girlfriend had some interesting scars on her leg from an encounter with a box jellyfish in her childhood. It looked like she'd had an operation and that the surgeon was drunk, but it turns out this thing got tangled around her one leg with the inevitable consequence. Nasty.

only by a wasp, and bitten by an ant.

Nothing of any consequence.
