1997 W202 C180 MAF Issues?

Had the car for a few years now, but started to have running problems, ie car was hesitant under full or 75%+ throttle. I could drive around the problem by feathering the throttle, but that just doesn't feel right. I replaced the spark plugs and fuel filter. I then replaced the MAF with a cheapie from Ebay. The Car feels heaps better, but still hesitates under constant 75%+ throttle. Do I need to stump up the cash for a decent MAF? or is there something else to look at first?
