I am not sure if this subject has ever been brought up due to not reading all topics but I thought this would be a good one to start. Sorry if it already has. I wondered how many of you out there have psychic and/or ghost experiences.

I haven't had many ghost experiences (thank God) but I am psychic. I have really vivid psychic dreams most nights and have had for years. Some of the things happen the next day, some happen months later and some years. I always take a rough note of them just in case (a fortune teller years ago told me to do this). Anyway, I have never dreamt of the lottery numbers yet but I did dream that a woman in work's numbers would come out and they did. She only got a tenner but hey, still. When friends of mine are pregnant I have the habit of predicting what it will be and I have been right every time. I do love my psychic dreams. One time I was in a taxi going through Edinburgh (not in dream, in real life) and as it stopped at traffic lights, I looked across at a building and through the window I saw nuns tending to men in hospital beds. I thought it looked like something out of an old war movie. I looked away and when I looked back they were gone. I asked the taxi driver what that building was and he said it was offices but in the war it used to be a hospital run by nuns!!!! Freaky.

As for ghost experiences, I have only had one that went on for a few years. When I was 15 and staying at home I used to feel a cat walking along my bed and on top of me (yeah, it was defo a cat). It used to happen about once month and I even gave it a name, Percy. I dreaded the day it arrived and I used to just freeze in my bed. That's about it but I would be interested to hear other people's stories.

I don't believe in the spirit world or any of that guff, however I've often wondered whether 'time' is linear, based on things I've seen, stone cold sober, no drugs involved.

For each individual event. Multiply by number of occurrences...

I do the same (predict sex of unborns and get it right every time).

I hate words like "psychic" because of the association with frantic bullst and con merchants. 99% of it is bullst but that doesn't mean that one or two real instances don't occur, problem is to separate the sheep from the goats. So many instances are not susceptible to investigation by proper scientific methods for reasons like lack of repeatability, and being under observation stopping it happening at all.

A lot of it I don't talk about because it is too personal, but I do have a few examples I like to trot out which are connected with a woman who is (a) now sufficiently far in my past that I don't care any more and (b) eventually turned out to be a complete bh anyway so it doesn't matter hehe

Shot out of bed one morning at 5:30am - and I mean shot out of bed, instant transition from deep sleep to bouncing out of the covers - thinking something bad had just happened to her, indeed it had, some sthead who lived up the road from her had just decided to kick her front door in.

Used to be able to have sex with her on a purely mental level while not even in the same house, not only did both she and I know perfectly well what was going on but her three year old daughter used to know about it as well, thought it was funny, described in correct detail things we had got up to and took the piss. Can't exactly dismiss it as imagination when a third party who not only had no involvement but who was far too young to be able to make that sort of stuff up and who definitely wasn't supposed to know anything about it in fact knew all the details and used to trot them out at embarrassing moments.

Damn, now I've got
to try to post something cohearent after an evening of cheap vodka... But I wonder the same thing, I'm toying with the theory that time isn't a linear line either, but more like a circular-sonic boom-radial-ripple (that makes sense to me) there are too too many coincidences in my life for it to be a linear line.

If you can imagine a 'time' before man began marking it with the artificiality of the clock and the calendar, such things don't seem quite so strange.

Clock and calendar are based on planetary movements so are hardly artificial.

Had three events on the paranormal front. One has confused me, the other two made me almost st myself when I realised what was going on.

The confusing one was back in 2001 when I was 10. I was taking my 11+ to get into a grammar school. As I was about to go into the hall, my mum (who was taking me there) mentioned my granded, who was dead. She said he would have loved me to have passed the exam and given me a kiss on the cheek for luck, and how he'd have loved for me to go into Engineering as a trade. At that moment, a leaf fell from a tree overhead and rested itself on my cheek. A few years later, after passing the 11+, I now have a job in Engineering. Strange...

The first spooky thought was a year ago. I was at my parents' watching a Top Gear rerun in the front room when suddenly (and undiscernably) I thought "st, I better check on mum..." I went to the dining room to find my mum mopping up her blood from a wine glass that had just shattered in her finger. A blast to hospital and a few stitches later and she was fine. Just strange how I found it necessary to check on her immediately after she'd hurt herself.

Also had a strange experience over a few weekends when I suddenly thought "hmm, my sister should be getting home now" (it's cue for me to turn my music downs o she can go to bed), and within the next few minutes she gets back. Not as bad as the others but I want to go to bed now.

Man has always marked time by the sun, the moon, the day and the season and merely invented clocks to reflect this. There was never a time when man has not marked time. Then it was a necessity of survival, now it is for convenience.
