Just a random thought really, but i've a few gay friends, and none of them are into cars except stuff like the new mini etc because of its image and supercars for the same reason.

I was wondering if there is any openly gay pistonheaders or anyone who has any gay petrol head mates?

You will find that leter on in life, Gay couples tend to do very well financially, as they have no kids, and both will tend to be in decent jobs.

I know some gay guys that drive *very* nice cars.

Plenty of gay petrol heads, a quick search through the lounge section will turn up quite a few, I've had a couple of clients who have been and know a couple of people localy who are, including one who's often seen trundling round in Bentleys / Royces / Astons etc.

I don't think that gays have any less or more interest in cars than a lot of the general public. I'm sure that the mix of Gay Petrolheaders and Gay uninterested in cars is much the same as the rest of society.

Probably more of them in the MX5 community if anything. wink

My best mates gay, He does appreicate nice cars and even has a go at fixing his snotter when it goes wrong. I wouldn't class him as a petrolhead though.

I don't think that would be the case.
I've made these percents up for an example:

15% = Straight males who are petrol heads as a percentage of total straight males
7% = Straight females who are petrol heads as a percentage of total stright females
5% = Gay males who are petrol heads as a percentage of total gay males
2% = Gay females who are petrol heads as a percentage of total gay females

I think there are people from all walks of life and sexual orientations who enjoy many different hobbies. But I think that a greater percentage of straight guys will be into cars than the percentage of gay men into cars. (Similarly I would expect that more straight guys are into football as a percentage, than gay guys.)

No science to back this up, just a guess.

I think sometimes people think of homosexuality as being someone's personality rather than their sexual orientation.

I've heard there's all sorts of these gays you know biggrin

My Wife tricked me into driving down Brighton front a couple of years ago just as the gay pride parade was starting and she filmed me pulling in at the hotel.
But I'm not gay honest.

Indeed and for some of them they DO behave as if their sexuality IS their personality.

Not really confined to homosexuals though is it? I'm sure we all know heterosexual people who behave equivalently.
