Which GEAR BOX AND DIFF OIL -- 1998 GRIFF

Hi Guys, time to change both , so what should i use ?

I assume the Gearbox is a Semi-Synth ? Gear Oil, But which Brand, how much does it take and is it easy to change ?
Re the Diff, i am assumeing that it is a Sailsbury ? Lim Slip, similar to an E-Type ?
And how much and is it an easy change ?

I was told by Racing green service dept last week ,, The gearbox oil is TQF but fully synth,, Gear box ive no idea sorry

I removed 1.7 litres of oil when I changed mine.
I replaced it with this stuff


Be careful about the gearbox plug gasket. I got mine from a LR dealer and he gave me the wrong one initially. The wrong one was composite and the wrong size, the correct one was the crushable copper type.

Yep, A Dexron 3 ATF is the way to go for the box. For the diff, BTR now Dana Spicer approve both Castrol SAF-XJ or Mobil SHS-ID as it contains "Sturaco" friction modifier. Penrite Sin Gearoil 80 is also a good one. Can't remember the quants, but google Dana m76 or m78.

Hi Guys, many thanks for the info. Hopeing to get it changed this week and the Gearlinkage Greased as well, hopeing it will make the change smoother/lighter.
And Another great w.ends driveing in her.
Gould i love this Griff, but she turns so many heads.

So many Classics, Exotic Moderns and of course lots of late 911s around over the w.end.

Be absolutely certain before putting oil in the diff, get it wrong and the LSD will suffer and is likely to seize. BTR & GKN diffs need different oils
