New car kept outside or in gararge ?
Discussion
For a car in general day to day use is it better to keep it outside or put it in the garage ?
We have 2 cars in our family. A new Hyundai i10 that the Mrs uses to and from work and an Octavia that will be replaced in about 5 weeks with a new Octavia Scout.
So …. Do I put the Hyundai in the gararge and keep the Scout outside or the other way round ?
The Scout is the more expensive car but will probably be more hardy than the i10 or would it be better to keep them both outside ?
Perhaps it would be more sensible to buy classic TVR then that could go in the gararge .... mmmmm

Dont really want to discuss the merits of the i10 as thats not what the origional post was about. I will in its defence however say that it’s great fun to drive, frugal, well built and has a five year warranty. Perfect for the Mrs 5 mile commute to work.
I would if I could of course still have a Supra, Cobra, TVR or Westfield in the garage but family life and finances dictate otherwise.

God why dont you buy her a bicycle man. Barely worth starting the car for a 5 mile drive. Cant she car share or something this then leaves you free to buy a fun weekend toy ???
As for which is which i would worry about either tbh. I would work it on a whoever gets in the garage first every day. Both cars will be fine outdoors. Also bear in mind rust warranties etc which are quite long on both.

You don't need to defend your i10, there's nothing wrong with it.I would if I could of course still have a Supra, Cobra, TVR or Westfield in the garage but family life and finances dictate otherwise.
Don't rise to the bait..just ignore such idiotic posts.........

k me! I know what one of those feels like at the tonne on a sweeping motorway. Must have been interesting on some proper curves
Although I notice that is more 'deluxe' than the version I have driven. It has foglights
No doubt the 'Ring handling pack too
I have a single garage and a large carport, my R1 gets the garage and the ST-2 takes the carport.( wifes car on the drive)
Under a carport is simple and easy, keeps the bird poo off and also allows the car to dry quicker than a car sitting in a garage would as it air dries. The garage offers complete protection from random 3rd party damage but putting a car in and out of a garage has it's own damage risks.Your choice.
