Following on from the thread regarding abandoned, decaying buildings in rural and urban areas, I thought I would bring it back to cars.

I personally find it quite sad, yet intriguing and interesting at the same time to see an abandoned car. Like buildings, it makes you think about the history of it. The depressing aspect comes in when you consider that however many years ago, someone was proudly recieving the keys for their brand new whatever, and now its life has effectively ended. Similar, I feel, to the Lightening in the other post.

Unfortunately I have no photographs to offer, so someone please get the ball rolling...

The fact is that the majority of people look at a car as a good with a useful lifespan. Once most get to the point of uneconomical repair, be it mechanically or structurally, that is usually it, with the exception of diehard enthuiasts willing to pour their resources into a moneypit.

I appreciate a proper restoration and the blood, sweat, tears and passion that goes into creating a labour of love, but very few cars are worth the money and grief IMO, as it isn't an investment given that much less money buys you the same car out of the classified...
