Could someone kindly post me a pic of the interior of a 390SE, a 400SE, and a 350i. I believe the SE is different to the 350i in the dashboard design, but are there any other differences in style/comfort levels ?

Pics appreciated, as you dont often get good interior pics in galleries.
Thanks anyone.

Don.

Hi and thanks for the link, yes I started off on those pages before finding the forum. just cant find any clear comparisons.
I am loving the idea of the BBWF, 2010. Bit of a jaunt for me, Im down in Kent, but it will be the best way of checking out models.
ive owned a 350I in the past, it had a 390 transplant, lovely car, but the gearbox was a bar steward, drove me to tears, so i got shot of it.
Now hankering for a replacement.

the 350i was a comfy old cabin, just wondered what the SE had over the 350 ?
Cheers Don.

Right then, 3 types of dash.

350/most 390/ one or two SEAC's

The most desirable and rare 4 clock dash. Very few 390's & mainly 420 SEAC's
Also has narrow centre console with handbrake located in the drivers footwell. Ultra desirable & ultra rare. If you have one of these, never ever change it. nono

5 Clock dash as seen in the 400/450 SE/ & most 450 SEAC.

Wyn, you forgot to mention the 4 different glovebox lids.. wink

Centre console radio panel differs from early Tasmins to later cars as the window switches used to be on the console behind the gearshift.
Also the heater controls were changed from Ford Escort van to something homebrewed.
Then there's the 3 or 4 different patterns of doorcard...
At least the seats remained basically the same!

Wyn, Thanks for that, I do prefer the 400 (4 clock) dash. The handbrake does look a bit weird offset like that tho. (I guess my 350 was like that too but cant remember).
Mmm very good.
Don.

I will make every effort to come to the BBWF, and will introduce meself if I do.
possibly with a wedgemobile who knows.

Well certainly 3: the original Tasmiin's was plywood with real walnut veneer inside and out - it resembles a solid plank of wood like your first picture.

Then there's the 400SE type with a large 'veneered' panel inset into the leather/vinyl - as your pics - and the 390 type with a smaller inset panel. I think the 400SE type had two variations with wider and narrower margins, but I've not actually measured so maybe an optical illusion.

Whilst we are on the subject of interiors, does anyone know where I can get hold of a wood rim steering wheel as in the pictures above? Mine has a leather wheel but it is getting a bit worn and lets the interior down, I really like the look of the wooden ones.

Just a point the 4 clock dash was not just for the few 390, and 420 Seac's some of the later 280i have them! (well the wife's car has)

Dom if you want to see all the dash's come up to BBWF as I am certain most variants will be there!
