Thoroughly exhilerating.

A gripping non-stop test of tactical managmeent and skill.

Graphically pleasing.

Class 2 of St Neophytes Primary thoroughly enjoyed creating the photorealistic tennis court. Sadly, little Johnny has partaken of too much meowmeow and the court markings are somewhat wobbly.

Miss Hartigan also suspects little Johnny of slipping the games AI a little sniff as well.

clap

Yup, pretty much.

What's the point of the assignment? If its a user experience thing, you fail. If its a make things do stuff, it kind of works biggrin

My Assignment said:
Pass criteria Comments
P3 – Identify functional data and interface requirements for a given specification and using appropriate design tools, produce a design for a game with a given specification.
Working with your lecturer, choose a game to develop using Scratch. Use the methods and tools identified in class. Your lecturer must agree the game specification with you.
Your design will include research, storyboards and planning documents.

P4 – create a working game that includes user interaction, variable assignments and operations.
Create your game using Scratch or an alternative IDE.
Your game must include at least one “actor” which incorporates content which you have created entirely by yourself.
Game must have scores or use variables
Your game should be “published” to the Scratch galleries.
P5 – create a test plan and use it to test and debug a program during its development.
Document this plan and show that the results of testing have been taken into account. Your test-plan should take into account user feedback generated by comments on your game from the Scratch website.
P6 – produce user documentation for a working game. Produce a user manual for your game.

Merit criteria
M1 – determine appropriate data-types for your game and show how they are declared
Describe all of the variables for all of the objects in your game and where and how they are used.
M2 – identify and use appropriate selection and iteration methods for computer games solutions
Describe how the core scripts in your game operate. Print out your Scratch code and annotate it with comments.
M3 – produce technical documentation for a game including a data dictionary
Produce a “developers” manual for your game. This should include information on how to upgrade or modify your game.
M4 – describe in detail the roles played by both hardware and software in the game development process. Write a short report on this subject in your technical documentation. Hint: this could be about the software and hardware required and performance.

Distinction criteria
D1 – Enhance a game using validation and additional graphical elements. Your game must use some form of animation and event-detection.
D2 – Describe how the structure and design of a game can assist in maintenance and capacity for extension Write about this in your “developers” manual. Does the structure of your Scratch game make it easy or difficult to maintain or modify? Explain.
Nice wall of text on a Monday morning wink

Doing stuff then smile

As feedback has to come from Scratch, not PH, you might want to get some up there that you can use to base the next iterations on biggrin

Looks like a good pass, now sort the documentation out and job jobbed.

There's nothing to praise, it's terrible.

This is like someone posting their first "program" that says "Hello World!" when you click a button.

But still, keep at it.
