Looking at this modded LS7 Loom there are two single wires:

1. labelled "A/C Clutch"
2. Labelled "12v Feed for A/C Clutch"

The Loom also has its own A/C plug - I know where this goes!

I have not a clue what these two wires are for?

Can someone solve the mistery for me?

cheers

Are these not the ones to the dash switch to select A/C required. I remember my loom has a feed wire and a return...Though I have no aircon, so the wires are unterminated. My understanding is that these two wires are connected via a switch. When closed, the ECU knows you want aircon and then sends the engage command to the A/C compressor clutch. Anybody back me up on this?

I'm guessing the plug you are talking about is the one that goes to the A/C compressor?

Liam,

That sounds logical...and Yep...the LS7 Loom has its own A/C Compressor plug which is used instead (I presume) of the old Ultima A/C compressor Plug.

I was given the impression that I should use the Ultima loom feeds for the A/C dryer and the fans, but then I am not that clear on the A/C circuit and how it works, so I need to fathom out how these two leads (A/C Clutch and 12v feed from the LS7 Loom) integrate with the Ultima loom.

Anyone know?

cheers

Keith

1. labelled "A/C Clutch" - this should be connected to pin A of the compressor. pin B on the compressor is earth.
2. Labelled "12v Feed for A/C Clutch" - this needs to come from the AC pressure switch

AC pressure switch feeds 12V to ECU when closed.
ECU ups the revs and turns on the clutch.

Well, hello Grant!
Thanks for the reply, but being a befuddled old man losing brain-cells rapidly, I would appreciate a little clarification:

The LS7 loom has a compressor connector and this already is in place. But, there are two distinct and separate wires coming out of the LS7 loom as described - so, in reverse order:

2. Labelled "12v Feed for A/C Clutch" - this needs to come from the AC pressure switch -
[this means that I should connect this to the a/c switch in the dash? - sorted then!]

1. labelled "A/C Clutch" - this should be connected to pin A of the compressor. pin B on the compressor is earth.
[err?????? this is the bit I am confued about - but the compressor already has a lead from the LS7 loom plugged-in? - I feel stupid now!]

cheers
