Points after a ban?

Let's just pretend for a moment ,, that I new someone who was coming to the end of a 12 month ban...

What happens to points on the licence?
Do you stay on max points and then the next time a gatso takes advantage of a photo opportunity, do you get another ban?

And another thing, what if my (imaginary) friend didn't have a UK license when they got banned the first time?

nothing... they stay as normal

3 yrs counting against u
4 yrs on your licence
5 yrs required to disclose to insurance companies.

(yes, they did used to wipe the whole thing...not any more)

Unless the ban is for totting up... then I am not sure

Does this mean that if she gets any more points, before those from the one time offence resulting in the ban expire, then she gets a totting up ban?

I thought you didn't get points and a ban. The ban is the more severe punishment, hence sympathetic magistrates issueing 2 week bans to get rid of points.
