Last year was awful.
For some reason not all the access gates were opened or "allowed to be opened" and the queues were horrendous to get in. took me over 2 1/2 hours to get from Lincoln into the ground. Getting out wasn't as bad. Think more of an overpacked overpriced funfair with a few planes in the background. Couldn't hear any commentry from the PA either.
To top it all they started turning people away who had bought tickets in advance as they had sold more on the gate and it "was full"
Wrote and complained - no reply, but got an e-mail this year asking me to book - wrote back and explained why I'd not be going unless some things were improved and again - no reply.
I won't be going back.

Fair enough, I'll wait until Flying Legends at Duxford the weekend after (even though it will cost me twice as much!).For some reason not all the access gates were opened or "allowed to be opened" and the queues were horrendous to get in. took me over 2 1/2 hours to get from Lincoln into the ground. Thanks for the comments - good to know.
There are improvements to the traffic flow and the flying programme is scheduled to be busier.
Ultimately traffic flow on the local roads comes under the civ police and whilst we work as closely as we can with them it is in the end a lot of cars on Lincolnshire's not exactly modern road network!
There are more pay points but advance ticket sales are currently running ahead of where they were last year so possibly fewer 'on the gate' tickets available.
As the event gets nearer the webiste will be regularly updated with the flying participants: http://www.waddingtonairshow.co.uk/
...and please bear in mind that whilst we all want to see the Vulcan flying as much as you do it is outside the RAF's control!
Note: personal opinions, not a formal statement of MOD policy or anything.
Edited to add: Local paper article about traffic flow: http://beta.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/news/Traffic-...

I'll be going. I have done for several years now. Last year was pretty poor compared against what has gone before, but I'm willing to give it a chance and see if it comes back to what it was.
I try and get there as early as possible, before the traffic gets too mad, and doing this I've never had a problem getting in. Getting out can be a bit of a pain!
Regards,
Rich
