Mat13 Car history

Seen a few other of these so thought i would have a go at one, my car history might be a bit short but bear in mind im only 21.
My First car was an 1996 Vauxhall corsa b. I absolutely loved this car, it could be provoked into four wheel slides round my local roundabouts at 20mph.
It also helped me get on first name terms with my local scrapyard and taught me a lot about how a car works. It was dead easy to work on and cheap to fix if broke it anymore.
It was then sold on to make way for my first nice car. A 2004 MG ZR 1.4, this was my first taste ofsomething quite tasty and for a 1.4 it really did shift. Despite the reputations of these i never had any headgasket problems or reliabilty problems. he dealer i bought it off though was a complete and utter cocksocket.
I am ashamed to admit i modified it at the time as i thought huge alloys and a quad exhaust were the way into a womans pants.
I soon got rid though as at the time i needed the money locked up in the mg so it was sold and replaced with a bog standard 1.0 litre corsa. Not a bad little car apart from the headgasket letting go on me. Easily sorted on he drive though i really do think corsas are one of the best cheap cars out there, they are so easy to work on and parts are cheap.
Not long after this i heard one of my neighbours mention that they wanted rid of the car that had been sat on there drive for over a year, one cheeky £500 offer later i was the proud owner of a 406 coupe 3.0 v6, not a bad car for a 20 year old.
So far this is the best car i have ever owned, I was absolutely gutted after i crashed it due to a flooded motorway and ditchfinder tyres.
Luckily i had just bought an isuzu trooper to break fr parts, it had some tax and test on it so it was pressed into service as my daily driver through the winter. It was truly amazing in the snow, getting over the snake pass where mountain rescue teams were struggling without missing a beat and even recovering my dads range rover at one point

and when an arctic wagon got stuck at work it shifted that too.
It was at this point i set myself a challenge to get a fun car the summer for less than a grand, the only conditions where that it had to be rear wheel drive and convertible. So i ended up with my second Mg.
This lasted me awhile untill my commute for work was tripled and i really needed something more comfortable. So i went out and came back with this.
And thats where i am at the minute, but after owning a rear drive convertible ive got the itch now, so im currently looking at either a tvr wedge or s series. Still i dont think ive done too bad so far with my car history for a 21 year old.

Thought I would update this as I have just added a new car to the fleet. I decided that I needed a classic in my life so I went on the hunt and ended up buying a series 3 landrover safari. The car is far from perfect but is unmolested and still has all it's original features. I intend to restore it and sympathetically modernise it a bit.
So here she is arriving at her new home
and settling in with another of my fleet
Surprisingly it has 12 months MOT, so I'm off to tax and insure it an take it for a spin.

Why did you get an mg over an mx-5 given a brief of "cheap rwd convertable" are you a true pher?!

And I know the white van and caravans are misleading but the caravan park is the family business. Its also a really good place to store my various "projects", however my dad is starting to get a little bit annoyed.

I still used the series every now and again for gentle rambles through the woods

The old grey one was stripped of anything usefull then sent off to meet its maker, and the old series earnt its keep for the day.
The discovery bobtail blew its turbo.....
So i went and bought a full comp safari spec offroader with full internal roll cage, shortened and sleeved range rover chassis, engine moved back behind the front axle and a set of fiddle brakes.
Took the trooper to the landrover owners show and couldnt resist showing them how its done.
After another few months of hard work the trooper blew up on me pretty spectacuarly so i needed a replacement quick that had the towing capacity of the trooper, step in the £700 discovery 300tdi.
And thats about it really up to now, i bought another trooper yesterday to replace the discovery but havent taken any pics yet.
