Sheesham Wood... How to protect?

Just brought a new Sheesham Wood coffee table.
It appears to be untreated, ie: No shine and is rough(ish) to the touch.

We have only had it a week and we have a couple of small what look like grease stains on it..

Can I protect it to avoid further stains?

Tung oil, or Danish oil?
