I want to buy a new Panasonic screen, preferably around 60+".

I'm confused as to the current lineup. I can see two 65" screens, the VT25 I believe now incorporates Kuro technology?

Then there is the P65S2 which is listed as "new" but is significantly less than the VT25. Should I avoid this screen, or is it still worth considering if I don't want to blow so much on the VT25?

First - 65" NICE!

Second - both screens are going to be ace, you're paying a hefty premium for 3D which is to be expected.

I have to say I'm very excited by the Kuro talk, although haven't seen it in action yet - anyone who has...is it as good as we hope?

Only you can answer whether it's "worth it" to you.

Myself, I'd be tempted.

VT is 3D and uses the Kuro engine from the Pioneer.

The other one we don't have in the UK so I can't help you there.

Pull up the specs for the S2, and compare with the UK's S20 and G20.
Just done it for you - straight off without looking any further, it has the same 2M:1 contrast ratio as the S20, not the 5M:1 of the G20.

If you can work with a 54" screen, then opt for the G20 or 25 - I'll let you compare the two to see what the difference is between them.

Thanks for the replies. I sit quite far from the screen so really want something 60"+.

So if I don't want 3D or to spend $4,300 (£3k) on a screen, but want 60+" what would people go for?Somewhere around $2,500 to $3,000 would be the budget.

The S2 is your only real option for direct view display - otherwise, it's projector and screen time, with the associated ongoing cost of bulb replacement.
But for something 65"+ in size, I'd be surprised if you could do it for under $3K in total, and if you end up looking at $3.5K, you may as well go the whole hog and get the VT20/25 at 65".
If you opt for the projector route, then you should speak with a couple of local installation companies, and see what they have to offer.
