Throttle spring

My throttle spring snapped today. Now the pedal feels like it does when the cable isn't attached, except the springs on the butterfly valves are just strong enough to push the pedal back. Throttle response is the same (it doesn't stick open) but you can hardly feel the pedal which is unnerving.

Does anyone know where i can get a replacement spring or does anyone have a spare I could purchase? Hopefully it doesn't mean a new cable to butterfly mechanism thingy (or entire new throttle!)

Just get any small spring from Halfords or B&Q. I ended up putting an extra one on mine as the original was a bit loose

Meant to say, it was bolted to the plenum bolt and bent around the mechanism

Mine was broken when I got the car. My solution was to unwind one of the coils and form a new hook on the end. I have to say (touch wood) that it's been spot on ever since.

Thanks for the replies and sorry for the delay, just got around to fixing it.

Tim, your suggestion worked great, doesn't look like new but works like new! Have a feeling I may have to go down your route Giles when it snaps next, looked a bit manky.
