Had this problem since i rebuilt the carb using a full, genuine Weber kit.Carb is a Weber 32 DIR 75.Problem is the accelerator pump jet that sits on top between the two venturis. When i turn the throttle link by hand i see the pump jet is spraying fuel out of it's nozzle down the venturi like it should, but, the petrol also oozes out the base gasket (copper washer)below the accelerator pump jet body? There are two copper gaskets, one below the jet body and one above it which sits below the brass screw head of the jet/bolt.Now it's obvious to say oh the copper washers knackered but it's brand new!I've also tried a fibre washer under it and it still leaks from the base??Is there anything else that can make it leak from the base, something i have missed? All jets are new and clear, all diagphrams are new, float level is bang on,i don't know what else it can be.This is really getting on my wick as my painter needs the car to be mobile as it's ready to paint.Car is just turning over and every now and again will 'chuff',then after a few more intermittent chuffs it will spew fuel out the top of the carb!Obviously just too much fuel pouring in,anyone any ideas? Please!!I'm on the verge of punting this thing but i've gone through too much with it to give up!

Interesting, I have a similar issue on my Formula Ford, (32/36 DGV). However I think I have convinced myself that what I am seeing is petrol wicking back from the nozzle rather than leaking. I think this is what is happening because as I operate the accelerator I don't see a leak but after a few seconds I see petrol wick around the washers.
Regarding the non starting. I see the float level is correct. Is there a power valve? if so that might be stuck. I suppose it is possible that the fuel pressure is too high causing the carb to flood.

It just a mechanical fuel pump and the fuel flow to the carb has always been the same.I know what you mean about convincing yourself that the fuel is seeping down and making it look like it's leaking at the base,i've thought that too but it doesn't come out the top anywhere or look like it's dripping down to the base? It's weird.

Any chance the float is getting stuck? or possibly the float is holed. How roes the R5T deal with the boost pressure? does the turbo suck through the carb? or is the turbo blow through the carb? If the latter then I suppose there has to be some way of equalising pressures to get the carby to draw fuel. Never played with forced induction though.

Looking at the Haynes manual the air flow direction arrows point through the carb then point towards the turbo so i take it the turbo sucks the air out the carb? All there is before the carb is a duct from the top of the carb that goes to the air filter housing.Carb actually sits at the front of the engine above the gearbox. The floats incidentally aren't holed and are moving freely, they are brass looking ones.

did a quick search which suggests the R5 has a pressurised carby so the turbo blows through the carb, maybe there are different versions. Anyway those searches all came up with the same issue. Fuel pressure regulator not doing its stuff.
