BMW Insured Warranty - good/worth it?
Discussion
As my car's original 3yr warranty is about to expire, BMW have now sent me some quotes for their "Insured Warranty" (more details here).
They are offering 3 different levels of cover at varying costs dependant on excesses. Comparing to what I've looked into for previous cars, the costs look fairly reasonable - for instance, their fully comprehensive level cover with BMW Emergency Service and no excess comes out at £520/yr.
Just wanted to see if anyone had taken out a BMW Insured Warranty themselves and would recommend it? Or alternatively, if there are any horror stories about using them?
Thanks,
Calum.

I've taken it but never used it so can't offer on that one.
Realistically, how many warranties claims have you had in 3 years. I took out the £250 excess option as most people don't ever claim. Helps keep the cost down. All in on my 335d it was £346
I've got idrive so went full comp.
From what i have read, it's much less hassle getting claims agreed. Normally you/garage would have to fax off the claims and get them agreed. Apparently the claims process is much less hassle with BMW garage to BMW insurance (even though it is underwritten). Anyway, no experience so far.
One thing you need to be aware of it, you have to have it serviced by a BMW dealership to keep your warranty valid.

Thanks for the feedback thus far.
That said, if the claim is for a larger or more expensive item/amount of labour, might it be an idea going for a lesser coverage package with a higher excess? Would have thought that a niceity of the fully comp package would be that you can claim for small items too, whereas that would be wiped out with an excess...
Also, with the excesses, does anyone know if these are payable if you use the emergency service roadside cover too? (appreciate I can ask this to BMW themselves but thought i'd see if anyone here knew first)
Servicing location isn't of too much concern as I have always had it serviced at a main dealer anyway.
Cheers.

Good point about how often you claim and the excess - I've had the car for a year and a half and it has only been in once for warranty work. Fully comp with a £250 excess brings it down to £346.Realistically, how many warranties claims have you had in 3 years. I took out the £250 excess option as most people don't ever claim.
