hi can anyone tell me the best hand held diagnostic code reader for my 1996 vw sharan as my laptop one wont read it

VAG 5052, we use them at work though they are expensive!

Any OBDII reader off of ebay, U280 is the common one.

I picked one up for £17.99, it brings up Ross Tech fault codes (VAGCOM) that can then be referenced from the Ross Tech Wiki page.
