I've just gone and done it.

This money is burning a hole in my pocket so i've just spent a large wad of it on some new wheels for my Montana.

Plumped for a set of Rota RBs in gunmetal with polished lip.

Decided to pay the extra for Toyo T1-S as well instead of the default Nankangs - 195/50/15

Someone on mx5scotland bought some from the same retailer (madmotors) and got 15x8s which results in a slight stretch on the 195s, whilst talking to Rob (top chap) he mentioned they can get the 15x7 as well so i went for those instead.

Initially he said they can't get RBs just now but i think he found these down the back of the sofa.

So wheels have won over sorted suspension but to be honest standard setup performs fine for me - if i do change it'll be for a slight drop for aesthetics only.

Can't wait to get them on and the car machine polished up - should look sound.

Happy days.

Cheers,
Steven

Do you mean T1-R? Isn't the T1-S an old tyre? Could be wrong.

Congrats on the wheels though!

Look what got delivered today...woohoo

Gotta get a few layers of wheel sealant on them - not sure to fit before my holiday as car will be going away to get brakes fitted (as well as timing belt/waterpump) so might just keep them off until I get back...

Still think these are the nicest wheels around for the MX5, even nicer than the BBS that come with the R-Limited, RS etc... but they just don't look right unless the car is really low IMO.

Dammit! I have been trying to talk myself out of buying a set of those exact wheels since the day my mk2 arrived...and now it's close to needing 4 new tyres you had to go and post that didn't you? laugh

It ALMOST makes financial sense...and would look SO awesome....

Nice, deffo wax them up with something decent. I put 4 layers of Poorboys wheel sealant on some Team Dynamics that I had on one of my Elise's and barely had to wash them. Great stuff, and smells like bubblegum thumbup

Yup - gonna put a coat of collinite 915, then a few of Poorboys on top to see how that works.

I'm hoping regular waxxing will keep the polished rims in good nick over the winter.
