We were over by the road round the trees. Watching the fireworks going horizontally across the campsite. Quite a view!
Some of the neighbours saw us setting off some lanterns and decided to join in, increasing the burn part with kitchen towels. It failed and burst into flames about 5 meters after, which plumited very quickly! The staff went slightly mental!

Haven't been for quite a few years now, but do they still put a display on from an oil drum in the middle of one of the roundabouts? 2003 I think it was.
Best display. Ever.
You think it's all over, then off they go again. Same again, and then again, each time louder and brighter!
Each of the guys take it in turns to stick fireworks in the sand filled drum, light, and then run like feck 'cos the fuses were so short! Must have seen well over a thousand fireworks in an hour.

Never noticed that display! I found a box of used fireworks in the carpark area of Bleu the side of the box was split and the fire works were pointing out sideways. I guess that explains the directions!

ts a couple of rows further in were aiming their mortar fireworks at the chinese lanterns that were drifting over from the trees area instead of firing them vertically; all fell short and landed, still burning, on tents up by the airfield fence.
Looked nearly as scary as the tent in a similar area that burst into flames just as we arrived on Thurs pm. Exit several guys kicking a flaming coolbox out of the tent that continued to burn wildly outside - presumably containing a dodgy stove or leaking gaz canister!
What about the group of french technofreaks who kept their disco going until 7am Friday - bit of a pain if you were in a tent close by!

were rigth by the entrance last year and got robbed. But I put that down to my own stupidty of leaving my stuff in a tent really. Certainly didn't put me off going this year.

I was in K i think. Some danish rockers were still rocking out when i got back from being stuck in the rain on friday night. Got to hand it to them, they had some energy!

We were in Zone F - that group with the German flag and the Porsche flag below - which was stolen on sunday morning 
The group shooting signal flares to other firework displays were a few rows behind us, so we decided to take our fireworks back home as the flares would've been still hot over that short distance to our camp, not to forget the genny fuel stored in the gazebo.
These people were really annoying and a bit foolish. They soaked this glowing fluid you might now from fishing on their arms and made a huge bonfire right under their gazebo which was some kind of military equipment as they arrived with an old Army truck
But all the other groups around us were very friendly and quiet as I expect the british to be. World class fans!
Most annyoing were the thousands of broken bottles and nails from burned euro-pallets from the previous MotoGP event - luckily we got away without punctures. I had one in 2008 on HA which cost 160 euros for towing me (tire failed at the peage)

We were in the no mans land bit between Sud and Nord. They buggered our pitch up and just stuck us in there.
Worked out well in the end as we've a massive tent but did mean we got fireworks fired at us from both directions on Sunday evening, not to mention the huge sofa/fridge fire that got lit 30 feet from our pitch.... fridges explode nicely.

I was on Bleu Nord, seemed pretty good natured all round, some french types singing the nation anthem for 2 hours at 3 am on thursday, not appreciated. Rest of it was top notch!
To the guys camped next to us with the Merc Limo and the Audi TT:

Our group was there, around the trees down near the entrance/toilet blocks. First time at Le Mans but seemed a good area to stay, was wondering what was going on with the really low fireworks for a while though.
We were the ones on the homemade tandum when it worked!
