Paint Sealant - Worth it?
Discussion
I just had my P+J ( Porka 993) fully resprayed and it looks as new. The painter had offered to give it a once-over with some sealant for about 60quid, but he is also looking into a "nano-sealant" for 100 quid but apparantly lasts for about 5 years. As a newbie I dont know much about these products, are they worth the money? Considering at some point the car will pick up the inevitable scratches which will need polishing out, this will damage the sealant too I guess?
I dont mind spending my days waxing/sealing my car, which sealants do you use?

I would look closely at either a decent 3M film to protect the vunerable areas or spend some serious money with GTechniq who are based in Kings Langley Herts.
A decent sealant along with good waxes vary in price....but spending more than £80 on a decent wax applied every six to eight weeks is somewhat extravagant.
Decent paint sealants would include Chemical Guys Jetseal #109, Bilt Hamber Auto Balm, Finishkare 1000p and the Carlack range. Zaino make some interesting products too. Sealants are pretty cheap and should last a fair few months if layered up, but won't stop chips.

Great recommendations. I have been using Zaino and layered up, the product really performs.A decent sealant along with good waxes vary in price....but spending more than £80 on a decent wax applied every six to eight weeks is somewhat extravagant.

Hi,
Im not sure quite how fresh your paintwork is, but dont wax or seal the paint for atleast 4 weeks - The paint needs to breathe and could have detremental effects if it is waxed too early.
Polishing is fine, but not wax
As for a sealant, I would personally advise getting the car properly detailed rather than letting the bodyshop guys do it - No offence to them, but most bodyshops are good at their job, but dont quite cut it as correcting and protecting the paintwork. Ive seen loads of cars straight from the bodyshop which are murdered by machine polishers and alike

I`m pretty sure there isn`t any genuine `5yr` sealants but Nanolex is as good as your going to get.I dont mind spending my days waxing/sealing my car, which sealants do you use?
