That makes me want to move to Aus even more, wish we fined people who used foul language in public.

My father in law actually took a bloke to one side the other day for the language he was using whilst on the phone and standing next to some children.

They're just words. Those who get offended by swearing realy need to find a life, even if the have to hire it.

Or maybe you need to find some moral standards?

How about the typical chav conversation shouted at 150 dB over a distance of 100 metres. Noisy feckers.

I'm immoral because I can't find words 'offensive'?

Queensland is the Aussie equivalent of the deep south - full of backwards rednecks, you have to take that into consideration.

I was once told a word can never be offensive, only the user can be offensive.

If you heard a three year old saying "you fking " to another three year old, would you consider that a bad thing?
That's why swearing in public is a bad thing

yes

It's absurd to say words are only words and can't offend - how do you think bullying works?? you are either very young or very naive

I am 30 and I am not offended by words - sorry.

Naive? Not really. I am just not the type to get offended by trivial things. I have better things to be getting on with than serving as the worlds unwanted moral compass.

And I'm nearly 50, so hardly young, and I don't think I'm especially naive, being in fact something of a cynical goit. Three year olds swearing is hardly the end of the universe is it? If it bothers the parents they can find a way to stop them (albeit temporarily I suspect) but I couldn't give a monkey's.

I'm OK with that - it's just a tax on stupid people. Same as fixed speed cameras. I wish all taxes were optional.

Umm, has anyone ever said they are leaving the UK for Australia to escape petty over regulation?
