I do fairly decent mileage and have not considered carrying a spare whilst RFT's are fitted...touch wood I'd had no problems but if I did I'd expect them to be able to get me home and if not them BMW assist should help. Wouldn't worry about it.

I make a 3000 km round trip a couple of times a year. Never crossed my mind to carry a spare. If you do carry one, you will have to leave it sat on the boot floor, as there's no room underneath.

That sounds like silly money - dealer prices I suppose.

Same principle, different car. I picked up a 17" space-saver (from an E46 330i/d I believe) for my Z4, unused, ebay for £45 inc tyre, when I changed to normal tyres. £10 for a jack, £15 for a compressor, £5 wheel brace, tenner for a couple of cans of foam sealant.

TBH I rarely carry the wheel as I usually need the bootspace on longer trips, but I've always got the jack, compressor and puncture sealant stuff in the car at all times. Plus RAC cover...

I've seen E90 wheels on an E46 . . . does that mean the space saver off an E46 can be used on an E90 ?

I have one of those spares Toxic is referring to in my e92 after changing to non runflats however I was going to buy a spare even when I had the runflats on , it is a ripoff price but when you spend that type of money on a car what is another £270 or so for piece of mind if it makes you feel better with a spare. Have to say it sits quite flat inside the boot and clips to the hooks very neatly.

no.

What's the point?

Going back 5 years..

My old Audi S4 didn't have RFT, had a spare, but I never had to use it.
My old M3 CSL didn't have RFT, didn't have a spare, never got a puncture
My old E92 M3 didn't have RFT, didn't have a spare, didn't get a puncture
My 123d has RFT until the tyres wear out..

If I get a puncture, then I'll get BMW assist out, but for the level of hassle of carrying a spare, vs risk of puncture, I'll take my chances with the risk

I agree with this. As far as I can recall I have only had to actually use a spare tire once in 20 odd years of motoring so the risk has got to be low. I would settle for a can of gunk and a compressor with the AA or whomever as a last resort backup smile

Sorry lads for the delay not been about for a couple of days, the footy is taking most of my time.
I am running them at about 33 on the front and 34 at the back. Not sure this is the right pressure as not had much time driving as car is not my daily drive. Seems ok though but not had time to drive it in the wet properly. Bit late now toxic as you have bought it but I think the tyre leaves enough room for a case etc, and the way it ties up I think is pretty neat.
