Elwctrical techie help please

I am attempting to cleanup/redraw the electrical diagrams for the S but am confused by the symbols on the Supplement sheet see below - what do the little circles represent? I dont think they show earth connections, could they represent some form of sheilding??

I'm pretty sure you're right Norman - it looks like a shielded cable, which I think isn't a surprise as the voltage output from the distributor I would imagine is very low, so any noise could induce an unwanted spark / plug firing.

see here and look at the difference between antenna shielded and unshielded. Tried to find a simpler (cable) example but couldn't.

Nope but a long boozey lunch in the sun talking cars (two daimlers a 420 and an 250 V8, an e type, and an AC Ace Brooklands and Gerald)
