Coming out of Sainsburys in Norwich this evening

Boxy shape that you'd possibly associate with a 60s/70s era car.

Not actually that far off the shape of a Lada Riva, but not as ugly from my brief glance.

Pretty sure the badge had a blue "C" on it.

The one I saw cruised past me and had a lovely deep V8 burble cloud9

Gordon Keeble? Had a V8.

Or a Gilbern Invader? Was a V6 iirc.

Ok, not exactly Lada shaped, but kind of boxy. smile

Boxy car that looks like it's from the '70s, has a V8 and a C in it's name...

Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Closest so far in terms of shape. The shape was only for a rough idea. I only caught a fleeting glance.

I suppose the badge could have been a "G"

It was quite small, so the likes of RR are definitely out. I could spot one of those a mile off laugh

literally.

Hmm, What about a Stag? They look quite saloon-esque with the hard-top fitted. This one looks like it's missing its engine, but you get the idea.

Could it have been American? Thinking Cadillac Seville or something..

No. It wasn't that big. Looked fairly small and austere. I assumed at the time that the engine noise was because it had had a conversion, so the engine doesn't necessarily have to be much of a clue.

The badge is driving me mad. I've been looking through this website, but haven't found it so far.

That sort of size and shape, but I'm sure the badge looked nothing like that, and I'm equally sure I'd have clocked an Alfa grille.

Nope.

TBH you could probably show me a picture of it and I wouldn't be sure. I thought the badge would be the key, but having searched the web I can't find anything that looks like the badge I saw. I'm beginning to think it wasn't a manufacturers badge.

Perhaps not a million miles off in terms of shape (I did say I only saw it briefly!), but I think it was shorter and more squat.

No.

My god that colour is hideous. The one next to it looks lovely though.

Hmm. Shorter and squatter than a Fulvia. "C" for a badge. There's only one answer!

Your last post opens things up then OP!

This looks very Lada-esque. I can't make out if it's a Datun or a Toyota though..

Or there's the early Skyline:

They all look as if they'd accomodate a smallish V8 conversion.
