I've been lucky enough to spend the afternoon having a tour of the Ginetta factory and talking about the Le Mans experience with them - a fascinating insight, especially talking to Lawrence and Nigel about what it is like to drive there. Fantastic hospitality and a really great team - they'll get my whole-hearted support again next year.
News on our Nige - he was home in Jersey by 4.30 with just a few bruises (ego?). They think he picked something up when he shortcut the chicane on lap 2 and that caused the puncture. Glad to hear he's ok .
Well done Ginetta for a good performance this year and see you again next year.

You lucky person, getting a factory tour. I met Lawrence and Nigel last year, and spent a good while chatting to the guys on the stand. This year, my Ginetta jacket started a conversation which lasted for most of Saturday!
I was really looking forward to getting this, this year:

The tour was organised by the Institute of Directors - I was initially gutted as they were fully booked but fortunately for me there was a last minute cancellation.
Nothing official on Beachdean Mansell for next year, but all the guys there would like it to happen. I guess it comes down to sponsorship and funding - if the name Mansell isn't a big enough draw (and they had been told it probably added another 20k Brits attending) then it is easy to see why teams struggle. I think they're hoping for a good battle at Silverstone first.
Ginetta as a company seem to be doing things right - my only complaint was that if the G50 is unlikely to be turned into a road car, why did they have to make it so pretty - here's hoping they change their mind on that one.
I'll try to post some photo's of the visit tonight - highly recomended to anyone who is lucky enough to get the chance - we might have to try to organise a ph Yorkshire visit.
Incidentally I reckon I agree with them - Nigel Moore to be in an F1 car in four years. Best of luck to him.
