Flywheel required

As title, can anyone point me in the direction of where I can get an early flywheel (96 4.2) My "new" starter motor has managed to disintegrate my flywheel

Adrenochrome has been told by his "specialist" that the early flywheels were smaller, but I'm told by another TVR specialist that the same flywheel was used throughout, so any V8 one should fit. Is that not right?

The early 4.2s have a different bell housing does that not mean a different fly?

The bell housing's were dif for the clutch that's all.
If you had an early car 4.2 or 4.5 the clutch is smaller, latter clutches were bigger thus the larger bell housing!

It will fit but you might have difficulty bolting the clutch on or when that is done, changing gear...

There have been several different flywheels: same external diameter but wildly different profiles which complemented the different clutches. You need the right flywheel to match the clutch otherwise you have problems.

earlier flywheels,and clutches are different (smaller), i think the bellhousing doesnt matter. Mine had an early clutch and flywheel and when i changed them i used the original bellhousing which was fine

I've done some more digging on this and I would now agree with you.

However, AFAIK, Adrenochrome had a new clutch fitted last year, and that involved him paying for a new bellhousing, so I suspect that he already has the upgrade to the later system and that his so-called specialist is either (a) lying or (b) a complete incompetent idiot.

If you're reading this, so-called specialist (who, in line with PH rules, I won't name), sue me. Unlike some of your customers, I DO have a nose for bullst.
