A suggestion for members cars / blogs section
Discussion
I like the "members cars" bit as a way of keeping track of costs of cars I've owned, especially the ones I'm running for work miles.
However, the way it works can be a bit clunky, assuming that any entered cost is sunk straight into the car and directly affects the overall figures - 13 months into an ownership could have two sets of insurance/tax which wildly skews the figures. Items like tax or insurance are an annual cost and if I sold the car, could be refunded for any remaining months or (with the insurance) transferred to the next car rather than lost. If for tax/insurance the figure was put in with the duration that it lasts for, the cost per year/month could be based on how much of it has actually been used.
At the very least, it would be good if negative values could be used, so that tax/insurance refunds when selling a car can be put in properly rather than bodging it by adjusting the "sold for" figure. Would be useful in some other cases too, say someone preparing a track car and selling the interior - a negative value could be used for what it sold for.
I've noticed quite a few people who do use the feature don't bother with items like insurance, and the way it plays havoc with the figures is one possible reason.
