Hi all

A mate of mine has a problem with the electronic boot catch on her Puma and has booked in to a For main dealer. If they are anything like the last Renault main dealer she'll get robbed so can anyone recommend an indy in Essex, as close to Epping Forest as possible?

Alternatively, has anyone come across this issue before and if so, how was it fixed? Would cleaning the mechanism or removing the fuse (obviously that would permanentaly solve it!) 'clear' any memory in the boot catch thereby curing?

Thanks guys

What is the problem exactly I might have an idea then what could be causing it

Ah yes, that would help! Basically it pops open itself and continues to open and close the lock.

Also, she informs me the engine management light is on and sounds a bit like a diesel! So front and rear end problems.

Thanks mate

Wouldn't like to hazard a guess on the engine issues. The boot lock sounds like the seal is perished causing water ingress, messing with the electrics, you could try replacing the seal and drying the lock out, either that or a new lock mechanism.
