I not sure what i saw as i was very tired and hungover. About an hour out of Le mans on Monday coming round a corner I swear I saw a chap hiding in the bushes in full camo gear and a camera. At the time thought it might be police but forgot about it. Reading some of the people's stories on here about speeding not many recall seeing a camera.

Do you think that the french police would use tactics like this. Ill put my hand up and say no one else saw it in my car but I am a 100% sure i did see something.

I absolutely definitely did see a cop in full camo with a speed gun - they were just setting up and a couple of motorbike Gendarmes joined the Autoroute in front of us as the camo bloke set up on a grass bank

One of my mates saw this but too late, then the Aston in front got pulled and the vette behind also got pulled and he didn't and all three were doing just under the 200Kph at the time......Black Scooby with four up doesn't get pulled.....go figure!

Saw a camo chap on monday around lunch time. Luckily we were in the inside lane doing the limit. Not so the black Z4 that went past us.

2 bikes caught him up and escorted off the autoroute. Hope the monies asked for weren't too big ...

Saw the exact same thing, but he came out of hiding after clocking some English cars not quite within the speed limit!

sounds like me, i think i struck lucky as they only radared me at 165kmh, i expect you were a bit further on while i may have been doing a bit more?

90 euro fine but its deffinately one of those things you have to do in life, surreal experience being taken to the processing station just off the motorway and seeing 5 or so stickered up cars all being handed fines.

Think we were pretty much side by side as far as I remember. I was in the red Chimaera with a 360, VX220T and MX5 in the convoy. Saw him pretty much just as you went past. Sneaky so and so ...

Glad to hear it was only 90 euros.

Untrue!

They must be getting commission, or must be pocketing some of the booty - because I can't believe they're *that* keen to contribute to the state coffers

we didn't see any rozzers on the way down Friday afternoon... figured they must have gone home for the day.

on the way back though Monday morning they were in their usual place past Rouen near the massive slope/hill Windmill section behind a bridge. We saw two motorbikes pull out from there chasing someone.

To be fair we've only been caught once and that was in our first year where we ended up taking a wrong turn at Rouen and ended up in the villages so we overtook a tractor up a hill only to be caught by a mobile tri-pod and the old man got a €90 as did the Aston and BMW behind us. Nothing for the past two years since.

Remember though if you don't get a receipt then it's going into their back pockets.

Just wondering, we saw a blue le man stickered up Xantia about 5 minutes before we were caught. The Car had something on its roof sticking up! Any Ideas?

We saw this guy, but he appeared to be using a "Camera" rather than a traditional "Speed Gun/Camera" we diddn't get pulled, although doing 150-160kph.

Will there be a ticket in the post, or if you are going to get one do they pull you there and then?

I saw a guy liying prone in camo like a sniper heading back towards Calais last year. Don't think I noticed any roadside activity this year at all though. Saw one bike, slowed down a bit and he went past to pull over an Aston (DB9 I believe) in front.
