I dont know why i keep saying yes, i'll check it out for you but... the car in question is a P reg 1.3 with the multi point injection version of the kent engine. Once warm, it has the symptoms of a sticking throttle when changing gear. I've briefly checked the obivious things like the cable and the throttle flap are both free to move. What fools me is that it behaves when the engine is cold. I was thinking maybe a throttle potentiometer issue but would'nt this cause a problem whatever the coolant temp is ? As usual a.n. other has looked at it, thrown time and money at it to no avail. As might be expected the budget is tiny but then although it's a low mileage example it's only worth it's weight in scrap. Anyone out there can point me to a few basic things to check? I'm o.k. with trucks and plant but cars are a bit fiddly....

There engines suffer with splits in the breather pipes there is a 4 way part just by the inlet manifold in tin middle if you follow the pipe on the oil car you will find it. Creates an air leak which will cause all sorts of problems smile

I was thinking along those sort of lines, it's always easier if someone else has experience of the likely culprit. Thank you for the prompt reply, if you ever need any help with a DAF truck, i'm your man...
