I torn between a red or a blue model, with similar mileage & age. I often find lots of blue or silver models for sale but rarely a red and I am sure that this is because the 456 does look stunning in Blue.

Does the colour make a difference to resale ? If so, which way (up or down) ? Based in the UK.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, this will be my first purchase!

Dark / subtle will help sell, red has traditionaly been a difficult colour to shift, although I do rather like the 456 in the darker reds as long as it doesnt have shields on the wings.

Understated and if you have a family - a great car 2+2. Blue do seem to have a premium. Although TBH the one I have seen was a PH Members Dark Red which look absolutely amazing. I am sure he will be here in a minute smile To even the bias.

True that the blue 456s sell very well, also the silvers. The blues are not a handicap when it comes to selling.

Has anyone had difficulty selling a red?

I had a red one. I don't believe the colour is really the determining factor on re-sale, because it's such a small marketplace to start with. It's not like you're going to attract an impulse buyer...

Having said that I think blue suits the lines better and if I had another one I'd get TdF or darker.

Back in the 456 era Luca M said "we wish to free customers from the prison of red. In fact, the 456 doesn't even look good in red"

Have Ferrari customers been freed? Do they want to be? Discuss

The couple of times I've flirted with selling my red 456, I would have had zero problem selling it. It's more noticeable in red than the usual silver or blue sure, but deep down, I suspect most people don't choose to buy a Ferrari and expect to go everywhere incognito. Luca was probably trying to shift several unused barrels of back order paint.

I would buy the best example regardless of colour, the only exception being green.

And I wouldn't buy an auto, whatever the colour.
